Eligibility

Hospice care is provided to terminally ill patients who have a limited life expectancy and wish to receive comfort care rather than curative treatment.

Hospice care is used to alleviate pain and suffering, and treat symptoms. Services are directed toward the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of the patient and family. Hospice services aim to maximize the patient’s comfort.

Medicare and Medi-Cal recipients are entitled to hospice care.

Most medical insurances and health maintenance organizations offer hospice care as a benefit. Contact your insurance company or health maintenance organization to confirm that hospice care is a covered benefit under your policy or call us at (818) 909-3444 for information.
